Paul is praying for the spiritual growth of Believers who are bearing fruit for God..

Eph. 1:17
“that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation in the knowledge of Him,”

Paul is praying not only would the Believers be FILLED with the Knowledge of Gods will, but with Godly wisdom, and Understanding spiritually what God desires of them.
None of this will happen unless you are reading the Word of God and being exposed to its truth!
