Overcoming Temptation

Heb. 4:14-15 AMP “Inasmuch then as we have a great High Priest Who has [already] ascended and passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession [of faith in Him].

15 For we do not have a High Priest Who is unable to understand and sympathize and have a shared feeling with our weaknesses and infirmities and liability to the assaults of temptation, but One Who has been tempted in every respect as we are, yet without sinning.”

Jesus said to me, “Temptation is not like a paper airplane flyby that if you don’t take it, it just crashes to the ground.

Temptations of the enemy are sent by demonic entities. They will continue until they see it is futile with you, then they will quit and look for something else.”

Consistent resistance with the Word of God and refusal to entertain or act upon temptation is the way to overcome.

So if it’s necessary to rebuke the devil and the suggestion used for temptation for a period of time, that doesn’t mean the Word and Authority aren’t working.

It means that your enemy, flesh or both need to see that you aren’t going to give into the temptation.

If you show you are moved by it, this will only encourage another effort to trip you up.

Find scripture that speaks to your situation and take a firm stand on God’s Word. Speak who you are according to the Word of God, not the flesh.

According to Ps. 91:3 if you stay with the Word and stay with God you will be delivered!
